Paul Mukairu was named Man of the Match after he scored and provided an assist for Anderlecht to march on in the Belgium Cup Wednesday night and afterwards he admitted he is best at left wing.
He has now delivered three goals and five assists in all competitions for Anderlecht since his arrival in October.
On Wednesday night, he started in an unusual No 10 position, but said he will play anywhere for the good of the team.
“It’s easier for me on the left,” Mukairu told Sporza. “Number ten is new to me, so I try to adapt and learn. It is a process, in football it goes step by step. I do my best.”
He added: “But it’s football, you know. You have to learn to handle every position and take into account where the coach puts you.
“Sometimes there are injuries to teammates. It’s about the team, not myself. Thanks to God we were able to win.”
Anderlecht played well to win at Liège, getting the goals they have been criticised of lacking recently.
“We will continue to work to score more because we will create chances,” Mukairu assured.
“It’s just about continuing to work in training. With the help of God it will be fine.”
Next week, Anderlecht will battle second division Union in a Brussels Derby for a place in the quarterfinals of the cup.
