Belgian league leading scorer Paul Onuachu has already been linked with clubs in the Premier League and now lately Ligue 1 outfit Lyon are understood to have enquired about him, and Genk sports director has said the giant striker can shine in a top league but would want him to only make the big move in the summer.
Genk sports director Dimitri De Conde said Onuachu has everything to be a big hit in any of the major leagues in Europe after he banged 19 goals in as many matches this season.
“He is a player who can succeed anywhere with his strength, speed and footballing ability,” De Conde said.
“He’s a fairly complete striker.”.
It has been reported that Lyon are keen to sign the big striker, but De Conde has ruled out a deal this month.
“Let us enjoy him a little longer. Paul has not been playing for Genk for a long time (1.5 years, ed.) And at the moment he is scoring very well,” he said..
Onuachu will turn 27 in May and that is an age a player has to take the step to a higher competition.
