Golden Eaglets put seven goals past hapless Dynamite Academy of Ibadan in another test game in Abuja on a day FIFA dropped the bombshell that next year’s U17 World Cup will not be staged no thanks to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
The cancellation of the 2021 U17 World Cup effectively cancels the U17 AFCON WAFU B qualifiers the Eaglets have been preparing for in Benin Republic next month.
A top team official further informed SCORENigeria that they plan another test game tomorrow against Future of Africa Academy of Kaduna.
He said they have not received any official communication from the NFF as regards the cancellation of the World Cup and invariably the U17 AFCON qualifiers.
“The boys are improving with every day, they understand what the coaches want from them,” an official told SCORENigeria
“The team will soon be at their best.”
