Kelechi Iheanacho was “fantastic” for Leicester City to beat Zorya of Ukraine 3-0 in the Europa League and ex-Liverpool striker Emile Hesky now wants the Premier League club to vary their style to suit the Super Eagles striker.
On Thursday night, Iheanacho became only the first Nigerian player to provide two assists in a Europa League game before he scored the third goal for his first goal of the season for ‘The Foxes’.
“Leicester City are built around Jamie Vardy and that’s why they play the ball behind the defence for him,” said Hesky.
“But Iheanacho prefers the ball to feet.
“He and (Harvey) Barnes were fantastic (vs Zorya), they formed a good partnership and there will be need for Leicester to sometimes change their style for Iheanacho.
“His goal and overall performance will help his confidence.”
Last season, he netted five goals in 20 appearances in the Premier League.
