It was a dream start for record signing Victor Osimhen at Napoli after his quick-fire hat-trick in a pre-season run-out.
The goals may have been against a Serie D club, but it shows the striker will face the challenge ahead of him squarely.
Leke James will be another one to watch as he continues to score for Molde both in the Champions League qualifiers as well as in the Norwegian league.
5.Kenneth Omeruo
The central defender does not score often and so when he does, it calls for some celebration. He did so in a pre-season friendly against Elbar, which Leganes won 3-1. In the coming weeks, his future at the relegated La Liga club is expected to be sorted.
4.Ahmed Musa
The Super Eagles skipper may not have been as prolific this season at Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr this season, but his second league of the campaign is certainly worth a second look – a precise shot from the edge of the box which beat the goalkeeper completely. He will now hope to end the season with a couple more.
3. Victor Boniface
The Flying Eagles striker has enjoyed a super run this past week after he scored his first goal in the UEFA Europa League after he had scored his fifth goal in the Norway for impressive league leaders Bodo/Glimt. He is quietly doing his craft in Norway with a big promise he will sooner rather than later take his game to a higher level.
2.Leke James
The experienced striker netted three goals in his last three matches, which included in a UEFA Champions League qualifying clash. Last season, he fired 15 goals in the league as Molde FK were crowned champions of Norway again. He began the past week with a goal against Odd in the league, followed it up with another golden effort versus NK Celje from Slovenia in the Champions League, before he ended it with his team’s second goal in a 3-2 loss at Viking.
1.Victor Osimhen
The striker has not wasted any time to start paying off the record 80 million Euros SSC Napoli splashed out to sign him from Ligue 1 club Lille with a remarkable hat-trick in his first game for the Serie A club. The pre-season friendly against division 4 L’Aquila may be the easiest he will play for some time to come, but this will certainly do his self-belief a world of good.
