Paul Onuachu will on the strength of what he showed on the opening day of action be the top star in Belgium this season, according to a top football expert.
Onuachu came off the bench to draw KRC Genk level at Zulte Waregem, before he caused the penalty which Cyriel Dessers put away for his club to win 2-1 on the road.
His performance earned him a place in the Team of The Week in Belgium.
The towering striker will be the star in Belgium predicted VTM Nieuws sports anchor Maarten Breckx.
“The Onuachu we saw against Zulte Waregem can score goals and he will also work hard for Dessers, so he can give a lot of assists this season,” he remarked.
“He is a real lightning rod.
“He is also well established at Genk, has recovered from Corona … so could be the revelation this season.”
Onuachu scored nine goals in the Jupiler Pro League last season to emerge as Genk top scorer after he moved from Danish club FC Midtjylland for six million Euros.
