Crotone improved their chances of heading back to Serie A after they thumped table toppers Benevento 3-0 with striker ‘Simy’ Nwankwo scoring all the goals.
‘Simy’ has now scored 16 goals, two goals more than he achieved last season in Serie B.
The big home win has put Crotone ahead of closest rivals for promotion Pordenone and Cittadella.
Crotone have 55 points from 32 matches with six rounds matches to be played, while their rivals are on 52 points apiece.
Table leaders Benevento have already booked their automatic promotion to the top flight as they are on an unassailable 76 points.
Crotone last played in Serie A in the 2017/18 season.
