Egypt have sacked coach Hossam Hassan.
Hassan was appointed Egypt coach in 2024 and led them in 38 matches.
This weekend, the Egypt football federation announced that they decided to part ways with Hassan and that Ali Maher would be his replacement.
Maher most recently came from Cleopatra FC.
In this summer’s World Cup, Hassan led Egypt to the round of 16 and after the exit against Argentina, the 60-year-old coach was puniched for his critical comments towards the referee.
In the most recent meeting, there was a draw with Angola (0-0), a victory against South Sudan (5-0) and a loss to South Africa (0-1).
