Paul Onuachu struggled as Trabzonspor lost at home to Freiburg in a UEFA Europa League tie.
However, Trabzonspor coach Thomas Reis has risen to the defense of the giant striker.
“If we have a tall striker like Onuachu, who can head the ball well and hold onto it, we have to play accordingly,” the German coach said.
“We couldn’t get him the balls he wanted. We should have taken advantage of the opportunities he offered us.”
Reis has also planned a private talk with Onuachu, who has lost his starting shirt to Guinea Bissau striker Franculino Dju.
The Super Eagles striker has netted 46 goals and made six assists in 73 appearances for Trabzonspor.
