After a scoreless first half, Nigeria went in front in the 48th minute, when Michele Alozie fired home a nod-down by Gift Monday to open the scoring for the visitors.
The Falcons doubled their lead in the 59th minute, when Uchenna Kanu nodded home a corner by Jennifer Echegini.
PSG midfield star Echegini was the standout performer for Nigeria as she threaded passes and literally covered every blade of grass on this pitch.
It was a dominant display by the 10-time African champions to give caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen a winning start in a five-round qualifying series to the Olympics in 2028 in Los Angeles.
The home team were resolute in defense before they finally caved in.
Both teams will again do battle Tuesday at the same venue in Ikenne to decide the overall winners to the next round of the qualifiers.
