Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is expected to make one notable change in his start list for Tuesday evening 2027 AFCON qualifier in Guinea Bissau.
Nigeria need a result in Guinea Bissau after the home team recorded a 2-0 win in Tanzania to shoot to the top of Group L.
SCORENigeria monitored the Super Eagles training in Uyo Saturday evening, which showed that the coach will now shore up in his midfield by starting Coventry City star Frank Onyeka to help out captain Wilfred Ndidi.
Madagascar scored a shock opening goal from a setpiece with the defense ball watching and if not for the bravery of goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, the Super Eagles would have conceded a second goal when the visitors’ striker went through on goal.
The inclusion of Onyeka would mean either Jerome Akor or George Ilenikhena will be sacrificed from the Starting XI in Guinea Bissau.
Otherwise, Eric Chelle will maintain the team that started against Madagascar with Nwabali keeping his place in goal and a back four of Ola Aina, Bruno Onyemaechi, Semi Ajayi and Calvin Bassey.
