Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has saluted the Flying Eagles after they rallied to beat Togo 3-0 and qualify for the semifinals of the WAFU B 2027 U20 AFCON.
The coach was in Yamoussoukro, Cote d’Ivoire, to watch the Nigeria U20s in action.
The Flying Eagles were held to a scoreless draw in the first half, before they came back to score thrice after the break.
“The first half was difficult for Nigeria because Togo have a good team, who started to play with the ball and it was difficult for us,” he reported.
“In the second half, the coach asked the boys to make high pressure on the team, they did. They played well in the second half, they put a lot of pressure on Togo, got the ball high on the pitch, got a lot of chances to score goals and they did.
“I was happy with what I saw in the second half.”
He said he is big fan, who followed the Flying Eagles when they were preparing in Abuja.
He also disclosed that he hopes to put some of the players who have impressed “directly on our database”.
