The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will today book their passage to the semifinals of the WAFU B U20 AFCON qualifiers with victory over Togo.
The team under coach Abdu Maikaba got off to a winning start in the tournament when they defeated arch-rivals Ghana 4-2 in an opening Group B match.
The Junior Hawks of Togo, on the other hand, fell 3-1 to Burkina Faso in their own opening group game and another loss this afternoon in Yamoussoukro will see them crashing out of the competition even before their final match.
Kick-off today is 3pm Nigerian time.
Flying Eagles coach Maikaba rued his team’s missed chances in the Jollof Derby against Ghana, while Warri Wolves midfielder Oraro Lucky as well as two-goal hero Abdulmuiz Adeleke caught the eye.
The finalists of this qualifying competition will advance to next year’s U20 AFCON to be hosted by Ghana.
