Danish club FC Midtjylland have signed Ikenna Udechukwu to their U19 Academy.
The 18-year-old defender comes from the strategic partnership club in Nigeria, FC Ebedei.
The youngster is excited by the new challenge in Europe.
“It’s really big for me to sign a contract with FC Midtjylland – and for my family too. It’s my first contract, so I’m of course incredibly happy. It’s a dream for me, so I’m grateful to have the opportunity,” he said.
“FC Midtjylland is a big club in Denmark, but I have been very well received by everyone here at the club. There is a big difference from Nigeria to Denmark. So far, the food, the pitches and the weather have particularly impressed me.”
He also listed his targets.
“My short-term goal is to get better every day and focus on my development. In the long term, I hope to play for the first team one day. One of my biggest dreams is to play in the Champions League with FC Midtjylland,” he said.
