Egypt coach Hossan Hassan has protested in the strongest terms the way and manner his team were eliminated from the 2026 World Cup.
Egypt were leading 2-0 before Argentina staged a late comeback to win 3-2 and marched on to the quarterfinal of the tournament.
“What I said to the referee was only that this was unjust,” said Hassan, who was booked by the referee for his protestations by the sideline.
“I was saying maybe he had a scoreline in mind. Maybe he had something to hide.”
He added: “It’s an undeserved victory for Argentina.
“Once I’m back in my country and at home, I’ll never watch the World Cup again because there’s no justice in this competition.”
Egypt were angered by a VAR decision that ruled out Mostafa Ziko goal for a foul earlier in the move.
They also protested two late penalty appeals with one of them coming moments before Argentina broke forward and scored the winning goal.
