Super Eagles defender Jamilu Collins has revealed he will be fulfilled should he go on to play for Arsenal, the Premier League club he dreamt of when he was growing up.
Collins said he was so much in love with the London Gunners that he also idolised former England leftback Ashley Cole.
“I have always dreamt of one day playing for Arsenal,” said the Paderborn star.
Collins grew up in Kaduna, Northern Nigeria, and he said besides having Cole as an idol, he also tried to model his game after former Chelsea and Newcastle United star Celestine Babayaro, who was also born in Kaduna.
Last year, he featured in his first major tournament, the 2019 AFCON, with the Super Eagles.
The Eagles crashed out in the semifinals to eventual champions Algeria.
He said the youthful team were unlucky against a well-drilled Algerian side.
“We paraded a lot of young players like myself and we did our best, but were a bit unlucky against Algeria, a team who were one of the top favourites and were well-prepared,” he reasoned.
