Victor Osimhen has maintained that comments by Super Eagles coach over his club future were “taken out of context and blown out of proportion”.
Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle said at a post-match press conference after his team retained the Unity Cup in London that he left out Osimhen from friendlies against Poland and Portugal so that he could focus on changing clubs in the summer.
Osimhen has now gone on social media to say that the coach respects his club Galatasaray and that his comments were not well put out by the media.
“…his words have been taken out of context and blown out of proportion,” the striker argued.
“He has great respect for Galatasaray, follows most of our matches, and never intended to create any controversy.”
Osimhen further described Eric Chelle as “a great coach” and said he will continue to work with him.
