Arsenal tonight dashed the UEFA Champions League dream of Ademola Lookman and Atletico Madrid after a first-half strike by Bukayo Saka proved the difference between the two teams in this semifinal.
Saka slotted home from close range just before the interval for Arsenal to go through to the Champions League final 2-1 on aggregate after the first leg in Madrid finished 1-1 a week ago.
It will be the first time in 20 years that Arsenal will play in the Champions League final.
Ademola Lookman started this semifinal return leg in London, but he was ineffective and he was duly replaced early in the second half.
Sofascore awarded him 6.4 points.
Arsenal will now await the winners of tomorrow’s other semifinal between home team Bayern Munich and PSG.
PSG lead the tie 5-4 from the Paris clash a week ago.
The Champions League final will be played in Budapest, Hungary, on May 30.
