Eric Chelle will have to pay the NFF compensation in the event he takes up another appointment as he still has a year left on his contract as Super Eagles coach.
Top officials informed SCORENigeria that the compensation could even go beyond the remaining contract fee, which will be around $600,000 as Eric Chelle earns $50,000 a month, as this would be deemed a breach of contract.
This week, Eric Chelle, 48, has been linked with the vacant post at French Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille.
There were also interests from Guinea, Angola and Tunisia after the coach guided Nigeria to third place at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

He should be grateful for the set of super eagles who are ready to play and make his glory shine, he may decide to get another job and no players to bring forth his glory……….
Please, let him go!
Generation after Generations, same pattern. We are giving our best platform to foreigners to build their profile & then dump it on our faces.
200 million people and we can get our own competent hands? We just have to learn to trust our own. We have the stars, let’s make them a team through merit and we are good. Eliminate ethnicity & religion, we will get competence. Get our own to do the job and pay him same value or even higher.
He wants to leave that was why he started the mind game from the AFCON match briefing about his future & NFF has shocked him wt right response. Now his mind game is manifesting. We have the capacity wt patriotism. Get them & let this bro leave. The national pressure is much for him to handle!
I don’t know why a lot of Nigerians are always negative or think everything revolves around them.
Eric Chelle has done great service to the Super Eagles, and like every other professional, he deserves a climb in his career, whatever he deems that climb to be.
He signed a contract and is able to walk away from it provided he meets d criteria set by both d contracted parties.
That said, I wish he stays, but if he doesn’t, I wish him the best wherever he goes.
