Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi was linked with a transfer back to England, but in the end the transfer collapsed.
According to Fanatik, Premier League club Manchester United considered signing the 29-year-old midfielder from Turkish giants Besiktas.
The publication said the switch failed because even though Ndidi was evaluated as a good option in midfield, United did not make a formal bid for the player.
Besiktas also did not wish to lose the player they just signed last summer and the death of Ndidi’s father last month also caused negotiations to proceed in a rather delicate atmosphere.
