After the long-drawn transfer saga of last summer, Ademola Lookman is now a player of top La Liga club Atletico Madrid, who signed him on Deadline Day after more than three years at Italian club Atalanta.
Ademola Lookman, 28, has signed a contract with Atletico until June 2030.
Atalanta head coach Raffaele Palladino has now given an insight on why they gave in to the wish of the player to move to Spain.
He said that Ademola Lookman came to the club to ask to be sold when Atletico Madrid showed interest.
Football Italia reported that, in a statement to Sport Mediaset, Palladino said Lookman had this offer towards the end of the transfer window.
The coach also added that the player asked to leave because he wanted a new challenge, and as a result, the club made him happy.
