Coach Eric Chelle has said he plans to call up more new players to the Super Eagles should he remain in charge of the team after the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
The former Mali coach is halfway through a two-year contract and the NFF will now decide whether to keep him in the job after he did not meet the target of leading the team to the final of the 2025 AFCON.
The Super Eagles fell short in the semifinal against hosts Morocco.
Eric Chelle has said he will continue to freshen the Super Eagles if he were given the chance to continue as coach.
“If God gave me the chance to continue (as Super Eagles coach) after the AFCON, I would have to bring in more players for the team,” he said.
“My dream is have 22 players who can all start a game.”
In his first year in charge, he has blooded the likes of Benjamin Fredrick and Jerome Akor to the first team with remarkable success.
Pisa newly signed striker Rafiu Durosinmi, Gozepe midfielder Anthony Denise and George Ilenikhena from AS Monaco are among the players now knocking on the door of the Super Eagles.
