Eric Chelle has said he wishes to continue as coach of the Super Eagles, but it is for the NFF to decide his future.
The NFF handed Eric Chelle a target of getting the Super Eagles to the final of the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
However, the team fell short of this after they lost 4-2 on penalties to hosts Morocco in the semifinal Wednesday night in Rabat.
“My future, I don’t know for now. I am the coach of Nigeria at this moment, but it depends on whether the NFF want me to continue or not,” he said.
“The tournament is not over yet. After the AFCON, I will meet with the NFF and we will decide the next step.”
The former Mali coach signed a two-year contract with the NFF in January 2025.
His work with the Super Eagles has attracted interests from several other African teams including Angola and Guinea.
