Godwin Saviour and KSV Roeselare will now have to feature in the relegation playoffs after they could only draw 0-0 at Lommel.
Roeselare needed to win the final game of the regular season in the Belgian second-tier to avoid the relegation playoffs.
Saviour, who has enjoyed a fine run in the closing weeks of the regular season, was a 67th minute sub for Roeselare.
The former Nigeria U23 forward made a few forays at goal but it was not enough to give his club the win they desperately needed.
They will now face bottom club Lokeren in a direct shootout for who will remain in the second division.
