Rivers United new NPFL leaders

Rivers United are now the new leaders of the NPFL after they edged past Wikki Tourist by the odd goal today.

Match winner for ‘The Pride of Rivers’ was Taofeek Otaniyi, who hit target after 19 minutes.

Rivers United now have 33 points from 16 matches, two points ahead of second-placed Nasarawa United and with a game in hand.

Ikorodu City are now third in the standings on the back of a scoreless draw at home with Katsina United.

City now have 29 points from 17 matches.
