SCORENigeria has gathered that some players have kicked against a rescheduled friendly versus Egypt in Cairo, saying they fear injuries and fatigue.
On account of a FIFA directive on the late release of players, the friendly against Egypt, which is to serve as warm-up for the AFCON for both countries, has been shifted to December 16.
This will be barely a week to the Super Eagles opening 2025 AFCON game against Tanzania in Fes, Morocco.
An official told SCORENigeria: “Some of the players have already complained that the match is coming too close to their first match.
“They are also not happy that they have to first fly down to Egypt before they will head out to Morocco after the game.
“They said they will be tired by the time they get to Morocco because of a lot of travel.”
Questions have been raised over the NFF insistence for the Super Eagles to play in Egypt as the countdown to the 2025 AFCON continues.
