Victor Osimhen has revealed the personal torment he suffered at the time he was to transfer from Lille to Napoli five years ago.
La Repubblica has reported the behind-the-scene details during the transfer negotiations between Lille and Napoli for Osimhen.
The newspaper reported that the time the striker was dealing with the illness and eventual death of his father.
Osimhen told the Finance Police his travails during the trial of Napoli on this transfer.
He claimed that his agent then Jean Gerard was “only interested in the transfer and not my father’s health” and that he was angry with this agent as well as Lille because he could not see his dad before he passed.
He further said that it was then that he sacked his agent and got William D’Avila to handle the transfer.
