Super Eagles captain William Ekong has congratulated Benjamin Fredrick for posting “an amazing” performance against Rwanda today in Uyo.
U20 star Fredrick was selected ahead of Ekong in the heart of the Super Eagles back four to make only his second appearance at full international level.
“Benjamin played an amazing game,” Ekong praised.
“To do what he did in an important game like this and at his age was not an easy thing.”
Ekong will later be introduced to today’s game in the closing minutes in place of striker Cyriel Dessers as coach Eric Chelle locked up the game.
