SCORENigeria can exclusively reveal that Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers has been given the nod by Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle ahead of Paul Onuachu for next month’s crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.
Dessers,30, shone for the Super Eagles under Eric Chelle at the invitational Unity Cup in London and has continued to get among the goals for his Scottish club.
He recently suffered an ankle injury, but his club have announced that the injury was not as serious as first feared and he could be back playing again this weekend.
Onuachu made the first squad of Eric Chelle in March and enjoyed a goal-scoring debut for Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig earlier this month.
The criticism against the giant target man is that he has yet to translate his goal-scoring prowess at his club to the Super Eagles.
* THE NEXT MAJOR FOCUS POINT**
AS CRUCIAL WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS IS GETTING CLOSER DAY BY DAY. IF WE TRUELY WANT TO SUCCEED IN WINNING THE REST OF THE WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS MATCHES & QUALIFY FOR NEXT WORLD CUP., MY ADVICE FOR ERIC CHELLE AND HIS ASSISTANTS IS STRICTLY BASE ON WHO & WHICH PLAYERS TRUELY DESERVE TO BE INVITED FOR NEXT REMAINING WORLD CUP QUALIFIER MATCHES.
## ERIC CHELLE SHOULD GO & ANALYTICALLY WATCH THE PERFORMANCE OF LAST TEN CONSECUTIVE MATCHES EACH PLAYERS HAS PLAYED IN THE PAST FOR SUPER EAGLE TO REALLY KNOW WHICH PLAYERS ACTUALLY HAVE THE FIGHTING SPIRIT(aggressiveness), QUALITY, POTENTIAL & TRUELY DESERVE TO BE INVITED FOR NEXT REMAINING CRUCIAL WORLD CUP QUALIFIER MATCHES.
*** FOR INSTANCE:
@(1). the performance of the last ten matches BONIFACE played is ZERO. IT IS NOTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT.( despite not scoring goal, he doesn’t show good quality on the field of play) OLUWASEGUN( from Russia), DUROSIMI(from vict.Pizen) are better than him.
@(2). ….. ONUACHU last ten matches played is also ZERO. IT’S NOTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT ASLO.(he is European club goal scorers DECIEVER, His style of play doesn’t suit Super eagles team)
CYRIEL DESSERS is far far better than him.
PLAYERS WITH STRONG CHARACTER, AGGRESSIVENESS, FIGHTING SPIRIT & ABLE TO RUN WITH THE BALL IS THE KEY TO QUALIFY FOR NEXT WORLD CUP
