Coach Eric Chelle has lamented the 4-0 thrashing the CHAN Eagles suffered at the hands of Sudan in a 2024 CHAN Group D match tonight.
The heavy loss has knocked Nigeria out of the CHAN even before their final group game against Congo.
“We made four mistakes and we conceded four goals… Look at the goals we conceded… It’s difficult. We have made a lot of mistakes in these two games,” a devastated Eric Chelle lamented after the match.
This was a sweet revenge for Sudan, who lost 3-1 to Nigeria in the semifinal of the 2018 CHAN in Morocco.
Sudan coach Kwesi Appiah said he did not expect his team to win by such a big margin.
It was also another defensive blunder that cost the CHAN Eagles their opening match against defending champions Senegal.
