Wilfred Ndidi was dropped by Leicester City just hours to kick-off against Chelsea today after he suffered a relapse of a knee injury that needed surgery.
Hamza Chadoury was a late replacement for the Nigeria defensive midfielder.
Ndidi had made an early return for Leicester City against West Ham in a Premier League clash, before he played the entire game in the English League Cup loss at Aston Villa.
In August, the midfielder gifted Chelsea a soft goal at Stamford Bridge and then made amends by also scoring a goal.
The Super Eagles star has scored twice in 21 league appearances for ‘The Foxes’ this season.
