Major League Soccer (MLS) club FC Cincinnati have extended the contract of former Flying Eagles midfielder Obinna Nwobodo until 2027 with option for an additional year.
Nwobodo, 28, moved to the MLS from Turkish club Gozepe in April 2022.
He has scored two goals and provided 11 assists in 117 appearances for ‘Cincy’.
Cincinnati general manager Chris Albright said the club are delighted to keep the former Enugu Rangers star.
“Since arriving three years ago, Obi has been a fundamental part of our success,” he remarked.
“He’s relentless in hos he approaches the game, on and off the field, and he’s an exceptional teammate and leader for our group.
“We’re delighted to have Obi and his family stay in Cincinnati.”
