Flying Eagles coach Aliyu Zubairu has vowed his team will give everything to qualify for the semifinal of the 2025 U20 AFCON, which will guarantee them a ticket to this year’s U20 World Cup.
He therefore described Monday’s quarterfinal clash in Ismailia against the runners-up in Group C as the team’s most important game at Egypt 2025.
“We will go all out to win the quarterfinal, which is the most important game of the competition, as a win will get you the World Cup ticket,” he said.
The coach also defended his team’s disappointing showing against the Rising Stars of Kenya.
“It wasn’t easy at all,” he admitted.
“Kenya came all out to make sure they win.
“But it wasn’t a bad result because it has got us to the quarterfinal.”
