Victor Osimhen has been widely reported to be on his way to Manchester United with even some reports suggesting that he has even agreed personal terms with the 20-time Premier League champions.
But it has now emerged that United have shifted their attention to Matheus Cunha (Wolves) and Liam Delap (Ipswich Town) for additional fire power come the summer.
Top Transfer Expert David Orstein of The Athletic has already reported Osimhen will not be moving to Old Trafford in the summer.
“The priority for Manchester United in this upcoming transfer window is the offense. They are mainly looking at a central striker and a “ten”,” he told NBC.
“They want to solve it quite quickly. The finances are in place, as I understand it, to do the deals that they want to do. They are not dependent on European football, I am told, nor on sales to do them.
“If Manchester United are going to look at others (besides Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap, I’m sure it won’t be Victor Osimhen. Despite reports you may read, he is not on Manchester United’s agenda.”
And now GiveMeSport has reported that Osimhen to United will not happen because the Premier League cannot match his salary demand.
United will take up his release clause of 75 Million Euros, but will not meet the striker’s 12 Million Euros-a-year salary.
Osimhen himself has made it very clear he will not take a pay cut to make a transfer.
He has thus far scored 30 goals and made seven assists in 35 appearances for table-topping Galatasaray.
