Asisat Oshoala has predicted 2025 will be a good year for the Super Falcons after a rather topsy-turvy 2024.
“We have to focus on 2025, it’s a new year, new competition, another opportunity to try again, to win trophies as we used to,” she said via X space.
“There’s a lot of work to be done, after the last couple of tournaments I think the team is already building on those positive outcomes.
“Although we didn’t get through the group stage of the tournament, I think we had a lot of good competitors and we were able to compete.”
“We have a long list of young players; incredible talents from the local league to be honest, and also international players that are also learning to play with each other now compared to the unorganized team everyone knew us to be,” she added.
“2025 will be better, the mentality will be different, everybody wants to win, the players are fighting for shirt, there’s no automatic spot for any one, there’s been camps back to back, and too games which have built the team to where it is right now.”
The well-travelled and experienced attacker has also began looking ahead to WAFCON 2025, stating the team will compete at the top level.
“2025 we have to keep that up, and I believe that WAFCON will be a very good outing, we will be able to compete at the top level,” she declared.
