Officials have told SCORENigeria that the NFF will announce a new foreign coach for the Super Eagles next week.
This followed the meeting of the NFF technical committee in Abuja Thursday.
“The technical committee has made its recommendations to the NFF executive committee and it is now left for them to make the formal announcement,” an official informed SCORENigeria
It was further gathered that the appointment will in the first instance be based on the specific assignment of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria have six outstanding World Cup qualifiers beginning with away game in Rwanda and a home match against Zimbabwe in March.
The Super Eagles are currently in a precarious situation as they are second bottom of Group C with three points from four matches, while leaders Rwanda, South Africa and Benin lead on seven points apiece.
THE WHOLE NIGERIA SHOULD NOW SEE THAT OF OUR LEADERS OCCUPIED TOP POSITION SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED ANYMORE DUE TO UNFULFILLED PROMISE THEY ALWAYS MADE. EMPLOYING A STANDARD FOREIGN COACH BEFORE NEXT WORLD CUP QUALIFIER QUALIFIERS IN MARCH WOULD HAVE BE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR NEW COACH TO KNOW EACH PLAYERS & HAVE CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH PLAYERS BEFORE THE IMPORTANT WORLD CUP QUALIFY MATCHES.
