CHAN Eagles coach Daniel Ogunmodede has said that even though he is happy with the goalless draw achieved in Ghana, qualification for the 2024 CHAN is of great importance for the NPFL.
The CHAN Eagles will welcome their Ghanaian counterparts Saturday in Uyo after both teams played out a 0-0 draw in Accra Sunday.
“I am satisfied with the draw,” Ogunmodede said.
“Now it is for us to qualify for the CHAN.
“Qualification will add more value to our league, the players and the indigenous coaches.”
He admitted his team improved in the second half after a shaky start.
Captain Nduka Junior was also confident going into the return leg in Uyo.
“We hope to consolidate on the result in Ghana in the second leg,” he vowed.
The overall winners of this final playoff will advance to the delayed 2024 CHAN to be played in February in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
