Former Nigerian Vice President Atiku Abubakar said his coronation was never in doubt.
“Look no further than Ademola Lookman, African Footballer of the Year 2024. Congratulations,” he also posted on X
“Congratulations to Ademola Lookman, who has just been crowned the 2024 African Footballer of the Year,” added former Nigerian government official and influencer Reno Omokri.

“Nigerians are proud of you, a worthy son of the Giant of Africa, who is now the Giant of African football. You brought so much joy to Nigeria during the AFCON in February of this year.

The National Sports Commission (NSC) commended this individual achievement.
“Lookman rose above all his peers on the continent,” praised NSC director general Bukola Olopade, who attended the awards ceremony in Morocco.
The Super Eagles and Atalanta star was decked in traditional flowing gown and accompanied to the awards ceremony by his parents and friends.
He charged the younger ones never to allow their failures to weigh them down.
“Four years ago, I failed in front of the world. Fast forward to 4 years, I’m the best player in Africa,” he recollected.
“To the young children & people watching this, don’t let your failures weigh you down.”
