Noah Adedeji-Sternberg scored one of the goals for Genk to remain four points clear at the table in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.
Adedeji’s goal in a 3-2 win over struggling KV Kortrijk was Made-in-Nigeria as he was set up by fellow Nigerian Tolu Arokodare.
Adedeji thus justified his first start of the season for the table toppers and he was thrilled about that.
“Of course I am very happy with my goal,” said Adedeji-Sternberg after the match.
“I saw that Tolu cleverly passed the ball in my direction. That gave me the opportunity to accelerate towards the goal.
“Scoring the redeeming goal at such a moment gives a good feeling, especially in a match that was quite difficult in the first half.”
The Belgium U19 star has now scored three goals this season.
Genk have now recoded 38 points from 17 matches.
