The NPFL Player of Week 13 is Ndifreke Effiong of Rivers United.
The versatile player scored a second-half penalty that ensured Rivers United returned to the top of the NPFL standings.
It was his third goal of the season.
His other goals were at home against Shooting Stars and former team Akwa United.
The slim home win over Abia Warriors ended a four-match winless run by the Port Harcourt club.
The former Nigeria Olympic international Effiong has been in and out of the domestic league following stints in Morocco and Iraq.
This season’s championship is very wide open and it will be the likes of Effiong who could determine where the trophy will be won.
