SCORENigeria can specially reveal that Obafemi Martins has rejected a deal to play in Saudi Arabia that could have earned him at least $1.5 million because the oil-rich kingdom does not have a top night club.
Martins has been without a club since he was released by Chinese club Shanghai Shensua and he has insisted he has received several offers and he has not quit the game yet.
One of such offers was from Saudi Arabia and a source who is familiar with the offer told SCORENigeria he is not interested because he will not have a nightclub to catch some fun after the pressures of playing football.
“He was very open about why he will not move to Saudi Arabia,” the source informed SCORENigeria
“He says being part of the nightclubbing scene takes the pressure off him and without this, he cannot enjoy his football.”
Incidentally, the former Newcastle United and Inter Milan striker plans to soon open a top-class night club in Lagos.
