SCORENigeria lists the five players who are likely to play key roles for the Flying Eagles to successfully defend their WAFU B championship against arch-rivals Ghana tonight in Lome, Togo.
5 Ebenezer Harcourt
He is now the team’s No 1 goalkeeper after he toppled the more experienced Nathaniel Nwosu by the team’s second game vs Cote d’Ivoire. He has proved his worth between the sticks in the team’s march to tonight’s championship with a string of big saves.
4. Daniel Bameyi
He has been ‘captain Fantastic’ at this tournament, leading by example. He is the team’s best defender and was named Man of the match in the all-important Group B clash against Cote d’Ivoire.
3. Bidemi Amole
He was tipped to be one of the big stars at this competition but has yet to justify such rating. But what is evident is that he has shown through some glimpses his star quality. Could he tonight bring his star quality to dim the Black Satellites of Ghana?
2. Kparobo Arierhi
The 17-year-old striker has so far scored a goal in this tournament. There are many goals in the boots of this Beyond Limits Academy striker. He could well rise to this epic occasion.
1.Clinton Jephta
The Enyimba winger was the hero when the Flying Eagles went past Niger 3-1 in the semifinal to set up this Jollof Derby tonight. He scored a brace against Niger to bring his tally to three after he also hit target against Cote d’Ivoire. His goals and pace down the flanks ought be a major source of concern for Ghana tonight.
