Coach Aliyu Zubairu has fired the first salvo ahead of tonight’s Jollof Derby between the Flying Eagles and Ghana in a WAFU B U20 final in Lome, Togo.
The Flying Eagles coach said the Black Satellites are a slow side and his team will exploit this weakness to their advantage.
“Ghana are a good team, but they’re not fast. They don’t play with high intensity,” coach Aliyu Zubairu said.
“We’re also aware of the rivalry with Ghana at any level.
“We have grown in this tournament, we have improved with each match.
“We’re prepared and we’re going all-out as defending champions who want to retain their title.”
The Flying Eagles will be without Sabiu Ibrahim, who despite his late call-up has fitted in at defensive midfield.
He has not recovered from an ankle injury he suffered in the decisive Group B match against Cote d’Ivoire.
His replacement will either be Suleymane Alabi or Raphael Obyebanjo.
Kick-off time is 8pm Nigerian time at Stade Kegue in Togo.
