Tonight, The Flamingos fought to the bitterest end, but found the USA a bridge too far as they exited the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.
The Nigerian girls were gallant in defeat, but they did not have their shooting boots on the night.
For the USA, it was a sweet revenge after Nigeria edged past them via penalties at the same quarterfinal stage two years ago in India.
The USA went ahead in the 43rd minute through a penalty tucked away by Kennedy Fuller after Shakirat Moshood fouled inside the box and VAR confirmed the offence.
The Flamingos dictated play and created the better chances in the first period but were not clinical where it mattered most.
Top striker Harmony Chidi came close twice, but just could not hit the back of the net.
It was the same story after the interval before the Americans got the goal that killed the game in the 77th minute courtesy of Kimmi Ascanio.
USA continued to pile on the pressure for more goals in the closing minutes.
Every I don’t watch the game but I knew wat could have happened.
We don’t have psychologyical Brain.
It will happen and happen until we knew there is wat is called tortoise Brain formation in football.
Nigerian coaches didn’t study that course wen dey go update their training in Europe..
They wil never allow them to get to read that book .
Reason y dey didn’t qualify for last world cup in Qatar.
Same reason y they are finding it difficult to win their world cup games . In easy group of Lesotho Zimbabwe Rwanda Benin
Anyway it isn’t their fault.
The same reason y the u 20 lost to bokinabe
But after dey coach read my post .. he woke to get Cote D’Ivoire result
We already told him how to approach Niger .
People think it was money.. wen u win money wil come .
Nice one,more effort
