Victor Boniface has to start scoring goals for the Super Eagles so as to step out of the big shadows of Victor Osimhen, according to ex-star Etim ‘Maradona’ Esin.
The Bayer Leverkusen striker again fired blanks when the Super Eagles welcomed Libya to Uyo Friday in a 2025 AFCON qualifier.
He has now played nine games without scoring a goal for the Super Eagles.
However, Etim Esin said he believes Victor Boniface has the talent to make a name for himself in the national team, just as Osimhen has done.
“It seems like if Victor Osimhen is not playing, the Super Eagles are struggling to score goals,” Etim said in an interview with Eagle7 FM
“This ought to be an opportunity for another striker to step up.
“I like Victor Boniface as a player, he can improve on his final ball and I believe if he scores one, two goals, he will break the jinx of not scoring for the Super Eagles.
“He has so far been overshadowed by Osimhen.”
