Caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen has admitted Fisayo Dele-Bashiru’s late match winner against visiting Libya tonight in Uyo was a huge relief for the Super Eagles.
“It was a huge relief for me and the boys,” Eguavoen said after his team’s 1-0 win in a 2025 AFCON qualifier.
“When the goal came, it was a big relief.
“But I expected us to score more goals.
“Overall, we’re happy, we’re still top of the group.”
‘Cerezo’ said Libya only opened up their play when the Super Eagles broke the deadlock.
“They are a good side, they should play, when we scored, they came out,” he said.
“They defended in numbers in front of their goalkeeper.”
Eguavoen’s Super Eagles record now stands at 15 wins, four draws and six losses in 25 matches.
WE SHOULD STOP CELEBRATING FLUKE WINNING.
WE DEFEATED IVORY COAST 1-0 IN AFCON GROUP STAGE BY PENALTY and we are celebrating fluke winning,
WHERE AS UNKNOWN SMALL TEAM, EQUATORIAL GUINEA DEFEATING THEM (IVORY COAST) 5-0 EASILY.
SUPER EAGLE TEAM IS NOT A TEAM WE CAN BOAST OF FOR FUTURE.
*** OR IS THERE ANY NIGERIA FANS THAT CAN TRULY BOAST OF THE TEAM THAT THEY CAN QUALIFY FOR WORLD CUP WITH THIS KIND OF ATTITUDE OF PLAY ????.
COMMON RWANDA THAT WILL STRUGGLE TO PLAY DRAW WITH THEM LAST TIME, WERE BEATEN 3-0 BY ORDINARY BENIN REPUBLIC.
***WHAT A SHAME!!!!!!!!
