Tolu Arokodare, who has been labeled as “greedy” for demanding a huge pay rise at Turkish club Trabzonspor, must have shut up some of his critics after he fired twice for Genk to edge past Beerschot 4-3.
Arkodare gave Genk the lead at 2-1 after half an hour.
He scored his brace on 64 minutes for 4-2 with an assist by compatriot Yira Sor.
The big striker has now netted four goals in three matches in the new season.
Genk are fifth in the standings with seven points from four matches, three points behind surprise leaders Westerlo.
The Belgian media came down hard on Arokodare after he reportedly asked for an annual salary of $2.5 Million to join Trabzonspor.
The Turkish club offered $1.5 Million.
