Much-traveled Belgian coach Tom Saintfiet must be praying for his luck to now change with Nigeria after a previous disappointment.
In March 2012, Saintfiet was appointed by the NFF as technical director.
However, the appointment was called off soon after as Nigerian authorities insisted there were competent Nigerians to do the job.
Last week, the NFF came close to appoint the former Gambia, Togo, Malawi and Zimbabwe coach only for top Federal Government officials to stop this announcement.
“The process has been put on hold,” a top official simply informed SCORENigeria
Promoters of Saintfiet said the 55-year-old coach of Philippines is keen and ready to take over the Super Eagles.
“He’s only waiting for a signal to resume as the new Super Eagles coach as he has accepted the offer,” a source close to the coach told SCORENigeria
