Top Transfer Expert Fabrizio Romano has shot down the possibility of Victor Osimhen going to Chelsea on loan.
This comes on the heels of Osimhen’s agent dismissing a loan deal for the striker as “fake news” and lacking in respect for the top scorer when Napoli won their third Scudetto two seasons ago.
Romano posted on X that Osimhen is on a huge salary at Napoli and he will not agree a pay cut.
He further explained that Napoli will not cover his salary should he be on loan at Chelsea.
“The salary is important, if Victor Osimhen was to go on loan to Chelsea he would probably have to reduce it,” Romano said.
“Napoli will never cover the wages while out on loan.
“He’s on a big salary, around £9.2 million net! He does not want to cut it.”
He added: “Victor Osimhen and his agent are against a loan move with an option to buy. (Obligation is not considered a loan ). This is the feeling today, who knows what happens tomorrow.”
The renowned Transfer Expert also maintained that discussions between Napoli and Chelsea have only begun and a transfer is a long way away.
“Trust me, Victor Osimhen to Chelsea is not imminent,” he pointed out.
“It’s in the early discussion stages and not something for today or tomorrow. It will take time to understand what happens.”
