Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo has yet to commit his international future to the Super Eagles despite a renewed pressure by NFF officials for him to do that at the expense of England.
LondonWorld today reported that Adarabioyo’s camp said the player has yet to make a decision on whether or not to play for the Super Eagles.
The highly-rated central defender, 26, has already represented England at age-grade level, but he has yet to make his Three Lions debut.
LondonWorld further reported that NFF officials, encouraged by what Ademola Lookman has done with the Super Eagles since he changed international allegiance, has so far approached Adarabioyo twice to choose Nigeria with no success.
One of these official approaches was by coach Jose Peseiro before the delayed 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire in January.
The move to get Adarabioyo opt for the Super Eagles comes at a time former captain Mikel Obi blasted players who only agree to play for Nigeria after they have been overlooked by other countries and they are probably well past their best.
